You’ll only hear from me when I actually have news. I’m too busy to send spam.

Thank you!

Much of the work I make is born of my experience in a place. I am always observing the world around me and seeking to understand it in some way - and then sometimes to share what I have noticed.

Of course there is a fine line between a search for knowledge, beauty or improvement; and practices of collection, intrusion, invasion and abuse. As a wadjela (white person) with the great privilege to live and work on the unceded lands of the Whadjuk and Beeliar people of the Noongar Nation, I am mindful of the precedent in this place for settlers to look at the world around them and claim the things they find beautiful, capture and misrepresent the unfamiliar; or censor and destroy that which they perceive to be ugly, useless or problematic.

While my practice is driven by a personal curiosity: aiming not to capture, document; impart explicit knowledge or to claim a single truth as fact. I do not assume to always understand how my actions, thoughts, feelings, or insights might affect others. While in some ways this is at the crux of making and sharing art - I also acknowledge the need to continually strive to practice reflectively, learn and reconcile where I can.

I acknowledge and am grateful to the Whadjuk and Beeliar people of the Noongar Nation, and offer my respect to their Elders - past, present and becoming. I humbly extend these same regards to all other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations, especially those who's country I may have the great privilege to visit and work on. I am inspired by the invaluable contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to this country, our story, our communities and the arts. This place we now call Australia alway was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
