About the Work

Some varieties of bottlebrush have graceful, cascading tendrils of leaves. I have been mesmerised on more than one occasion by the pastel colours of the younger leaves catching the sunlight against the darker greens of older folaiage. Especially when toustled by a gentle breeze.

I respectfully acknowledge the Whadjuk and Beeliar people of the Noongar Nation, who are the Traditional Owners of the land (boodja) on which I work and live, and pay respect to Elders past and present.
I extend my respect to all other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations, especially those who's country I have the great privilege to visit and work on.
I acknowledge the contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to this country, our story, our communities and the arts.
This place we now call Australia alway was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
