About the work

Painted in residence at the stunning Lost Eden Gallery in Dwellingup, this statement piece sits at 2.5m x 2.5m.

This is an ode to our lush banksia woodlands - when the sun is soft, the leaves are dark and glossy and the cones have finished flowering but still give the suggestion of a youthful freshness. It features the intriguing diagonal patterns of the firewood banksia's cone, with the dramatic leaf forms of the bull banksia.
